After I heard from my neighbours about the advantages of collaborating with KALICO as a cooperative, my husband was immediately interested and encouraged me to join the women’s cooperative without wasting much time. The members of the cooperative welcomed me warmly and we continued to invest even more in coffee production. Before the partnership with KALICO, my husband and I had serious financial problems because we were no longer able to pay our children’s school fees, but now everything is going well and we are investing in other small businesses based on the coffee revenues that KALICO pays us.
My family and I are grateful for working with KALICO, which has opened the door to self-financing and economic development that we women so desperately need.
